Ride Xpress Ltd Passenger Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Ride Xpress mobile application and associated services by passengers . By accessing or using the Ride Xpress platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Ride Xpress Ltd operates a digital technology platform designed to facilitate the connection between passengers and independently licensed taxi drivers . Ride Xpress Taxi finder App currently does not operate as a private hire operator for private hire vehicle and drivers and does not provide direct transportation.

Ride Xpress taxi finder app does not provide transportation services and is not the transportation provider. All transportation services are supplied exclusively by licensed drivers who operate independently of Ride Xpress Ltd.

Passengers must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to use the Ride Xpress platform. You must ensure that all information provided during registration and use of the platform is accurate and complete.

Passengers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their account credentials. Any activity conducted through your account will be deemed to have been authorised by you.

All booking submissions made through the Ride Xpress platform constitute requests only. Drivers/Taxi retain full discretion to accept or decline any booking. A booking is not confirmed until a driver/Taxi has accepted it.

Ride Xpress Ltd Taxi Finder App does not charge for booking, service, subscription, transaction, or administrative fees in connection with the use of the platform. Any applicable fees are an estimations of your taxi journey based on mileage, without the estimation for the wait time in traffic and will be displayed clearly to you prior to finding your Taxi.

At present, the Ride Xpress application is provided to passengers free of charge. However, Ride Xpress Ltd reserves the right to impose charges, penalties, or restrictions where a passenger misuses or abuses the platform or it's services. Misuse may include, but is not limited to, repeated false bookings, intentional time‑wasting, or conduct that results in unnecessary driver/taxi being taken to you for your journey using the Ride Xpress Taxi Finder App or logged driver/Taxi time.

Where a driver’s time has been logged as a result of passenger misuse, Ride Xpress Ltd may apply a cancellation fee, administrative fee, or temporary suspension of access to the platform.

Fare Estimates & Accuracy

Ride Xpress Ltd may provide fare estimations based on the City of York Taxi and Hackney Carriage fare chart. These estimations are provided for guidance only. Ride Xpress Ltd does not charge fares and does not guarantee the accuracy of any estimated fare displayed within the application.

The final fare payable is determined solely by the licensed Hackney Carriage Meter, in accordance with the fare meter calibrated, set, and inspected under City of York Council licensing requirements.

Cancellation charges may apply where a passenger cancels a booking after a driver/Taxi has accepted it and has used a significant time and resources to arrive, if a formal complaint is given by the driver, a cancelation fine may be given to you as a result of your abuse. Such charges will be applied in accordance with Ride Xpress policy and applicable law.

Passengers must conduct themselves in a lawful, respectful, and safe manner when using the platform and when interacting with drivers. Ride Xpress Ltd does not toleratethe abuse from passenger onto any taxi and will not facilitate such prohibited behaviour.

Abusive, threatening, unsafe, or otherwise inappropriate behaviour is strictly prohibited. Ride Xpress Ltd reserves the right to suspend or terminate passenger access to the platform in response to such conduct.

Ride Xpress Ltd is not responsible for any personal property left in vehicles. The platform may assist in facilitating communication between passengers and drivers for the purpose of recovering lost items, but no guarantee is provided.

If a payment is taken by Ride Xpress Ltd, Refunds of platform-related fees may be issued in circumstances including duplicate payments, technical errors, or other exceptional situations assessed by Ride Xpress Ltd. Ride Xpress Ltd does not take responsibility for the fare paid to the independent Taxi drivers for their services however Ride Xpress Ltd will look into any mischievous fares charged by independent taxi drivers.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales

By registering for or using the Ride Xpress platform as a passenger, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
